at the school “Regenbogen” in Georgsmarienhütte
In the course of the remodelling of the schoolyard at the “Regenbogenschule” in Georgsmarienhütte, a new multi-generational playground has been developed. The multi-generational playground is considered to be a meeting point for young and old in the district of “Alt-Georgsmarienhütte”. A few days ago, artec delivered recreational goals with basketball attachment and mini goals with closed rear framework so that the multi-generational playground is now ready for use.
The lower part of the school yard has been divided into several areas in which children, adolescents and grown-ups are able to perform various sporting activities. Next to the existing gym, there is a sand pit which provides training equipment for older children and teenagers, on the one side, and on the other side has an area with playground equipment for small children and toddlers to be used by young families. In the middle part a new multi-functional playing field has been created which is equipped with vandal-proof mini goals and recreational goals with basketball attachment. Here the backside profiles of the recreational goals are filled with sand to provide optimal noise insulation. Furthermore, the grounds include a bicycle pump track as well as a mountain bike parkour. There is also a recreational area created with stone blocks to relax and to chat. With this project the whole schoolyard, which is open to the public all day, has been upgraded and has become much more attractive.

The project “Remodelling of the schoolyard of the Regenbogenschule” has been intensely overseen and supported by the booster club of the Regenbogenschule e.V. “We are immensely proud to have created the new multi-generational playground in Althütte,” comments Marc Exeler in this regard. “This has only been possible thanks to the means from the Citizen Fund of the City Georgsmarienhütte as well as endowments, numerous sponsors and the energetic aid of many parents. Regarding the goals, especially the sand filled recreational goals of artec have won us over, due to their being safe against vandalism, on the one hand, and on the other hand, having a downright noise reducing effect.”
