VfL Sittensen wins NFV sustainability award
The project “Mosaik” of the VfL Sittensen wins the NFV sustainability award, which is announced for the first time in 2021. The purpose of the large-scale project in Sittensen is to make the entire structure of the club sustainable. This includes ecological, economic as well as social sustainability.
In the context of the installation of the ecological sports facility, artec® supplied high-quality and durable sports equipment to the project. In addition, the SPORTFIX CLEAN drainage system from HAURATON was used for the first time in Sittensen. This system is exclusively available at artec® in order to reduce the discharge of microplastics from artificial turf fields. Surface filtration captures broken blades of artificial grass as well as infill material from the field, preventing the plastic from entering the natural environment. The project in Sittensen is accompanied by research projects. Gained knowledge can thus be used by clubs in the future to develop further sports facilities in a sustainable way.
In addition to the renewal of the sports facility, other mosaic stones contribute to the new focus of the club. These include, for example, early support in the form of a ball school, in which the “Balluten” are encouraged to play ball sports. .
