Soccer courts create space for movement
It doesn’t take much to play a game of soccer – yet not every open space is automatically suitable for a game. Especially in close proximity to buildings or parked cars, balls shot too far can often cause a lot of damage. Kicking around in the afternoon can quickly become expensive. Soccer courts provide a remedy in such situations. They allow almost any space to be used as a playing field – without danger to the surrounding area.
Protection from flying balls
Soccer courts are defined by a perimeter border. In most cases, the basic equipment of a court also includes a ball catching net installed above the barrier. This will stop any shot, no matter how hard, and surrounding street lamps and window panes are protected from balls. A ball catching device, for example via ceiling nets, is also possible and often necessary at the top of the artec soccer courts.
That is, soccer courts are particularly suitable wherever there is little space and protection is needed from the one or other ball shot too far. Especially in increasingly densely built-up areas, soccer courts create additional opportunities for playing outside away from sports fields and gymnasiums. Such mini-pitches turn previously unused areas into new meeting places for soccer fans of all ages and also promote physical activity among children and young people – because there isn’t a sports field around the corner everywhere.

Play, fun and exercise in a small space
Since the rules of playing soccer on the court differ from the classic soccer rules and regulations, a soccer court requires much less space than a classic soccer field. A court with the dimensions of 40x20m already belongs to the large barrier playgrounds. Other standard sizes are 30x15m, 20x13m and 15x10m.
Soccer Courts provide enthusiasm even for non-football fans. Because besides the fact that there are fewer players on the field due to the size, there are no common rules for playing soccer in a soccer court. In most cases, players develop their own rules – without limits to creativity.

One problem with soccer courts is the noise emission, which is mainly caused by the impact of the balls on the court’s perimeter. Depending on the location, this may be perceived as a nuisance by residents. In order to avoid having to do without a perimeter playing field at such locations, mostly in the vicinity of residential areas, such aspects must already be taken into account when planning a soccer court. For such cases, artec® offers a perimeter coating to minimize noise on impact.
