Product range expansion out of love for the environment
In addition to our long-life and sustainable sports equipment made of aluminum, we are increasingly using environmentally friendly raw materials for other products in our assortment. This allows us to constantly replace articles by more sustainable sports equipment or to expand our assortment by ecological alternatives. In the field of goal nets, we are now offering exactly such an alternative. Ecological goal nets for soccer goals and youth soccer goals offer several advantages over conventional nets.
Ecological goal nets made of a plastic alternative
The ecological soccer goal nets are made of polylactic acid (PLA). Polylactic acid is produced from renewable and natural raw materials such as lactic acid and starch from e.g. corn and, as a synthetic polymer, belongs to the group of polyesters. The substance is known as a plastic alternative and is also called “organic plastic”.
Since PLA is very robust and has a high strength, it is particularly suitable as an environmentally friendly alternative for goal nets. This is because these have to withstand strong forces in both professional and amateur soccer and should optimally also have a long durability.
artec® offers suitable eco-goal nets for the following goal sizes:
- Youth goals 5.00 x 2.00 m with a projection of 80 cm at the top and 150 cm at the bottom
- Youth goals 5.00 x 2.00 m with a projection of 100 cm at the top and the bottom
- Soccer goals 7.32 x 2.44 m with a projection of 80 cm at the top and 200 cm at the bottom
- Soccer goals 7.32 x 2.44 m with a projection of 80 cm at the top and 150 cm at the bottom
- Soccer goals 7.32 x 2.44 m with a projection of 200 cm at the top and the bottom
The goal nets have a material thickness of 4 mm and are ideal for everyday soccer. At the moment, the environmentally friendly net alternative is available in white.
The correct way to recycle!
A crucial factor in the environmental friendliness of PLA is the correct disposal. One might think that ecological goal nets made of natural raw materials can also be returned to the environment and do no harm. However, this is wrong! Polylactic acid is only an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastic if it is disposed of correctly. Only then, it can be described as biodegradable. Therefore, it is important that goal nets made of PLA are disposed of in industrial composting facilities after their use on the soccer field. Certain framework conditions must prevail for the degradation of PLA, which can only be achieved in such special facilities.
