Field hockey goal – stable and safe!

Field hockey goal for outdoor hockey

Aluminum field hockey goal

Field hockey goal in Germany refers to the goal for outdoor hockey game. In German usage, one often speaks simply of a hockey goal. In English-speaking countries, however, the word “hockey” usually refers to ice hockey rather than field hockey.

If you want to buy a field hockey goal, then you are definitely at the right address at artec®. We manufacture high quality and durable goals for field hockey, which you are guaranteed to enjoy for a long time. Therefore, we would like to show you the features of our field hockey goals.

Field hockey goals size and material

At artec®, the field hockey goal is made of aluminum. Due to the high quality aluminum profiles with strong wall thickness, our goals have very high stability and long durability. Field hockey goals made of aluminum also do not require further treatment and are extremely resistant to weather conditions.

What are the dimensions of a field hockey goal?

The field hockey goal from artec® has a dimension of 3.66 x 2.14 meters, which complies with international specifications. In addition, according to the regulation, the lower display is 1.20 meters and the upper display must be at least 0.90 meters. The artec® goal also meets these specifications. The goal is made of aluminum profiles with dimensions 7.5 x 5 centimeters and is fully welded. What is special about our field hockey goal is that the aluminum profile is not unfilled, but has an embedded hardwood core. This significantly increases the stability of the goal and the hard field hockey ball is less likely to damage the field hockey goal.

What is the board in the goal made of?

The height of the board is 46 centimeters, which is in accordance with international regulations. The board is also made of aluminum, filled with wood and poured with a plastic coating. The plastic coating achieves the effect of dampening the noise of the impact of the ball. This is also realized by hand, creating a permanent and form-fitting connection. Compared with bonded variants, this approach offers significant advantages in terms of durability.

Another special feature of our field hockey goals is the lining of the boards. It can be lined with poured plastic covering – as already described – or alternatively with artificial turf and an elastic layer. The elastic layer allows the kinetic energy of the hockey ball to be optimally absorbed and damped. As a result, the field hockey goals can withstand the high load of the hard shots very well.

Accessories for field hockey goals

Counterweight

For mobile field hockey goals, an anti-tip device is required to prevent the goal from tipping over. It is important that sufficient counterweight is attached so that the field hockey goal can be played on without safety concerns.

In the case of free-standing field hockey goals, both the municipal accident insurance and the TÜV require appropriate measures to be taken to prevent the goals from tipping over. Since our field hockey goals already have a hardwood core filling in the goalposts, goal crossbar as well as in the board, the goal from artec® only needs a relatively small counterweight to prevent it from tipping over. For this purpose, we offer a system made of an aluminum profile with steel core filling, which has been proven for years. In addition, foamed air wheels are attached to the anti-tipp device, which allows the field hockey goal to be moved around the sports field.

Goal net

A goal net for field hockey goals must meet various requirements. This may have a maximum mesh size of 4.5 centimeters , so that the ball does not pass through the net. The attachment points of the field hockey goal net must also be no more than 15 centimeters apart and positioned so that the ball cannot pass between the net, goalposts, crossbar and boards.

For field hockey goals we offer goal nets with two different mesh sizes: 2.5 or 4.5 centimeters. The nets are made of polypropylene, are high-strength, knotless and are adapted to an upper outreach of 0.90 meters and a lower outreach of 1.20 meters, so that they are optimally adapted to the field hockey goal.

Net suspension

Like our soccer goals, our field hockey goals have a high quality milled-in net suspension. This offers various advantages due to the double deburring of the milling: Due to the fact that there are no protruding parts, this type of net suspension does not entail any risk of injury. The net is also easy to assemble and disassemble. Nevertheless, the field hockey goal nets sit securely in the goal and withstand even hard shots. The goal net is also attached to the board with a rod system. To secure the net, it can also be purchased as a lockable version if required.

Field hockey pitch

The size of the hockey field is different from the size of the indoor hockey field. Outdoor field hockey is played on a pitch measuring 91.40 x 55 meters. The hockey field in indoor hockey, on the other hand, is much smaller at 36-44 x 18-22 meters.

Professional field hockey is usually played on artificial turf rather than natural grass. The advantage of this is that the artificial turf is more even, allowing for better ball roll and control. In addition, the game on an artificial turf field is less dependent on weather conditions.

Impact protection planks for field hockey

Barriers are essential for hockey fields. Similar to the field hockey goal, artec® Sportgeräte offers fencing mats with an impact protection plank in two versions:

  • Plastic and aluminum
  • Artificial grass and aluminum

Due to the impact protection plank, the fence is optimally protected from the hard field hockey ball and is much more durable.
